Brett Myers pitched six innings for his 28th consecutive start on Friday night against the D-backs, which is all well and good, except that the game was decided in the eighth.

Had everything gone the way right-hander Brandon Lyon would have preferred, teammate Matt Lindstrom never would have had to go on the disabled list and would have continued finishing off games while Lyon happily served as the Astros' eighth-inning setup man.

Esposito searching for elusive at-bat

Perhaps none of the players the Astros called up when rosters expanded are more grateful for the opportunity than 31-year-old catcher Brian Esposito. He had a very brief stint in the Major Leagues three years ago and has been toiling in the Minors with younger players ever since to get another chance.

Astros honor broadcaster Hamilton

The Astros honored Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton on the field prior to Wednesday's game for working 65 years in baseball. Hamilton, who turns 83 on Thursday, was presented with a shadow box of moments and memories of his career. Hamilton has also had a scholarship named after him.
